WHO IS PEOPLES REPUBLIC

Peoples Republic was created and produced by recording artist Kaylene Peoples who has an extensive background in jazz and classical music, is an award-winner record producer, and a prolific composer in both the classical and the pop world.  Peoples Republic’s first release is A NEW RITE OF PASSAGE, which is a variation of remixes from Kaylene’s 2003 release RITE OF PASSAGE.  Renown mixing engineer Rich Mouser painstakingly remixed seven of the songs from the original album:  “Rite of Passage,” “Don’t You Want My Love,” “Human Frailties,” “Don’t talk to Strangers,” “Special Man,” “From the Very Start,” and “Who Is This Masked Man.”  There are new songs added:   “This Girl’s in Love,” “No Regrets,” “Amy Marie,” and “Take a Look at Me.”

Peoples Republic’s mission is to provide message-driven music, creating a new “sophisticated pop” sound, and offer depth both lyrically and musically to today’s sophisticated listening audience.  A NEW RITE OF PASSAGE is a mix of genres, ranging from 80s soul to 90s pop paying tribute to such artists’ styles ranging from Swingout Sister, Sade, Basia, and honoring arrangers like Burt Bacharach and Quincy Jones.

The musicians consist of a full rhythm section featuring seasoned players:  Stephan Gibu (bass), Mark Hammond (guitar), Gerald Thompson (piano), Jon Brooks (percussion), and more, including LA’s finest string and horn players; and programmers Baby Boy (drums) and Robin Lyle (“From the Very Start”).
